| 04 September 2008 John Palmer takes on Lands End to John O'Groats |
Former head teacher at John Stocker Middle School, John Palmer, is taking up the ambitious challenge of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in September. John is allow himself three weeks for the project and aims to start on Thursday September 4 and, barring any unplanned stops along the way, to be home no later than 25 September. Taking on this Challenge provides an opportunity to recruit sponsors and raise money for FORCE. Richard Robbins and a variety of Musicians invite you to John the Baptist Church in Broadclyst for a concert in aid of FORCE. The concert will take place on Saturday 6th September starting at 7:30pm. Friends of Graeme Foster, who lost his life to cancer earlier this year, are holding a ball to celebrate Graeme's life on Saturday 13th September. A marquee in the grounds of The Poachers Inn, Ide will see the Marines serving a curry buffet before you dance the night away to a live band. There will be a raffle, auction and much more..... All proceeds will go to FORCE and Hospiscare. A 'picnic on the pitch' has been organised by Pam and friends at Uplowman Hall and Recreational Field for Sunday 21st September. The gates will open at 5pm and it will cost £5 to join in the fun. Jenny Doherty will be taking part in the Great North Run this year in aid of FORCE. Jenny lost her mother to cancer in 2005 and FORCE were able to help.
